The Art of Balanced Feedback
Providing balanced feedback is an essential skill for both managers and HR professionals, as it not only addresses challenges but also reinforces strengths. When feedback is avoided, small issues can grow into larger problems, leading to decreased morale, lower productivity, and strained team dynamics. At the same time, recognizing accomplishments motivates employees and fosters engagement across the organization. Feedback, both constructive and positive, is critical to professional growth, helping staff build skills, align with organizational goals, and contribute more effectively to their teams. It also plays a vital role in performance evaluations, ensuring that assessments are fair, transparent, and rooted in ongoing conversations rather than one-time judgments. Co-hosted with Pratt's Office of Culture and Belonging, this session will help managers and HR professionals master the art of balanced feedback so they can approach difficult conversations with clarity and empathy, while strengthening trust and cultivating a culture of continuous improvement.
Please note: This session is open only to Pratt faculty and staff.
