TUNL Seminar - How to understand stars through nuclear structure?
Speaker
Philip Adsley
Nuclear reactions drive the energy generation and nucleosynthesis in stars and compact objects. Understanding nuclear structure including resonances and the properties of bulk nuclear matter is necessary for constraining the stellar behaviour. In this talk, I will discuss some of my research focusing on how nuclear structure studies can be used to inform stellar behaviour with particular focus on how experiments can be used to constrain elemental abundances and the properties of neutron stars.
