Reading/Practice Group on "Hospicing Modernity"

The Revaluing Care Lab invites faculty across disciplines to join a reading/practice group on Hospicing Modernity by Vanessa Machado de Oliveira. Through work with this text - both an Indigenous/Critical Education approach to care, and a workbook for reimagining how we respond to crisis - we hope to expand what's possible (and understand what may not be possible) within the university in the context of climate change and other overlapping crises. Three sessions over the course of the fall will include a combination of conversation and praxis, drawing on exercises offered by the text. Meetings will be three Mondays: September 30, November 4, and December 2 from 3:00-4:15 pm, in Smith Warehouse. Please note that this is an in-person group. Snacks and refreshments will be served!
