The Complaint Process

Duke University's response to the COVID-19 pandemic is focused on the safety of staff, faculty, students, health care providers, and the public we serve. Out of an abundance of caution, the Office for Institutional Equity will hold all OIE investigations, meetings, and workshops remotely via Zoom.

Report an Incident

The six steps below outline The Office for Institutional Equity's complaint process, which is designed to assist the Duke community when concerns about harassment, discrimination, and sexual misconduct arise. Each case is unique and our team members will customize the process to suit individual needs, but the steps below provide a general idea of what to expect. Duke policies prohibit retaliation against anyone for coming forward with a concern or for submitting a complaint. To request a small stack of the printed Complaint Process bookmarks, please contact OIE at ☎ 919-684-8222 or ✉ Please keep in mind that due to COVID-19 restrictions, distribution of printed bookmarks is on hold until further notice. Please use this webpage for your communication needs.
